What’s a 100-mile breakfast?

It’s where most of the food has been produced within 100 miles from TimberMist.  Why eat local? Local eating will reconnect you with your food, the seasons, and the landscape you live in or visit.  Now this doesn’t mean we only eat local… I would never give up coffee, olive oil or chocolate!  If you are interested in learning more read the book, “Plenty” by Alisa Smith & J.B. Mackinnon.  Go to their great website http://100milediet.org.

Come enjoy a fresh country breakfast at TimberMist!  A typical menu includes local & organic eggs from Parable Farm, meat from Walters Meat Market, fruit from various fruit stands, Burch Farms Country Market or Erie’s Whole Food Cooperative.  We also have wonderful local cider and we serve Welch’s juice (they have two nearby plants).   Please let us know if you have any allergies or special dietary needs.

Fast Fact:
One large egg has only 75 calories and provides 13 essential nutrients.  They are a good source of protein, folate, iron and choline.  Eggs are a naturally nutrient-dense food, which means they have a high proportion of nutrients to calories.
